Headache Relief · Waco, TX

Real relief from the headaches that keep coming back.

You've probably got a drawer full of pill bottles and a headache that keeps coming back anyway. Here's something a lot of people never hear: many recurring headaches don't start in your head at all — they start in your neck. At Landmark, we look there first, so you can do more than wait for the next one.

Listening first

Dr. Andrew with an adult patient — attentive, unhurried, taking the time.

More than "just a headache"

When the pills wear off, so does the relief.

If headaches are a regular part of your week, you know the routine — the pressure behind your eyes or at the base of your skull, the tight band around your head, reaching for medication and hoping it kicks in before the afternoon is gone. It's exhausting. And "managing" them isn't the same as being free of them.

A lot of headaches — especially the tension and neck-related kind — trace back to tight, irritated muscles and joints at the top of the neck, where the nerves to your head are easily provoked. That's actually good news: it means there may be a source to address, not just a symptom to mute. Finding out is where we start.

How we help

A plan that fits the headaches you actually get.

Headaches have a lot of possible drivers. Here's how we work through yours, step by step.

Examine

Get a clear picture

Digital X-rays show the alignment and curve of your neck, and our INSiGHT scans measure the tension and nerve activity at the top of your spine — so your care is based on what's really happening, not a guess.

Relieve

Ease it gently

When the upper neck is involved, gentle, instrument-assisted adjustments with Torque Release Technique ease the irritation there — low-force and precise, with no forceful cracking near your head.

Reduce

Aim for fewer of them

From there, a plan aimed at fewer headaches, not just faster relief from them — adjustments, Shockwave Therapy for tight neck and shoulder muscles, and posture guidance for the screens that make it worse.

Your first visit

Here's what day one looks like.

No surprises, no pressure. Here's how your first visit unfolds — and why we don't rush it.

Step 01

Real conversation

A full health history — when the headaches started, how often you get them, where you feel them, and what you've already tried. We listen first. No script, no rush.

Step 02

Thorough evaluation

A structural and nervous-system exam with our INSiGHT scan, plus digital X-rays when appropriate — so we find the real source of your pain, not just where it hurts.

Step 03

Report & plan

We sit down and walk through what we found in plain language, then build a care plan around your goals — the next step is always yours.

An honest note

Day 1 is the evaluation — not the adjustment. Plan for about an hour. Any care begins at a follow-up, once you've seen the findings and decided what's right for you.

Common questions

Headache questions, answered.

Can chiropractic care help my headaches?

For many people, yes — particularly tension and neck-related headaches, which often trace back to the upper neck. By addressing that source instead of masking the pain, a lot of people find their headaches become less frequent or less intense. After your evaluation, we'll be honest about whether we think we can help with the kind of headaches you get.

What about migraines?

Migraines are more complex, and we don't claim to cure them. That said, some people find that tension in the neck is a trigger or a contributor, and easing it helps. We'll talk honestly about what's realistic for your situation, and we're glad to work alongside your other providers rather than replace them.

Will I have to stop taking my medication?

That's a conversation for you and your prescribing doctor — we'd never tell you to change your medication. Our aim is different: to address a possible source of your headaches so that, for many people, reaching for relief becomes less of a daily habit. What you do with that is always up to you and your physician.

Is it safe to be adjusted near my head and neck?

Yes. Torque Release Technique is gentle and low-force — a small instrument delivers the adjustment, with none of the forceful twisting or cracking near the head that people often picture. We walk you through everything first. More about the technique.

Do you take my insurance?

We accept BCBS, Medicare, and United Healthcare, and we offer cash-pay and care plans too. Not sure whether you're covered? Call us at (254) 265-7007 and we'll check before your visit.

Do I need a referral to come in?

No referral needed — you can book directly. Just complete your new patient paperwork ahead of time and bring your ID and insurance card.

Will I have to keep coming in forever?

No. After your first visit we'll recommend a plan based on what we find and what you want to achieve — and the decision is always yours. Some people come in to get out of pain and feel like themselves again; others choose to keep up with care to stay that way. There's never any pressure.
